The Stokell family

I am currently researching my family tree and while doing so, I discovered that some of my family were born and raised in Thornton steward. My great great grandfather William Stokell, his wife Elizabeth and their son John. I recently visited the village and found their gravestone in the graveyard at St Oswald's churchyard. William died June 9 1865, John aged 26 can't read the year. Elizabeth June 7 1866. I know William's father also came from Thornton Steward. His name was John and his wife was Margaret. William also had a son called William who was the landlord of the Cross Keys in Bellerby for 30 years from 1871 to 1901.

I was wondering if you know if there's any of the Stokell family still in the area or if you can point me in the direction of finding further information. Possibly parish records or where they are held or anything else you think may be of any help. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give me. Regards Ann Hardy.
